  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg (beaten with 1 tablespoon of water for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pastry: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to ensure they are smooth and even.
  2. Add the Cinnamon Sugar Filling: In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined. Brush the melted butter evenly over the surface of the puff pastry sheets. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered pastry, distributing it evenly.
  3. Roll the Pastry: Starting from one edge, roll each pastry sheet into a tight log. Slice each log into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick swirls.
  4. Prepare for Baking: Place each swirl onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Brush the tops with egg wash to give a golden finish when baked.
  5. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the swirls are puffed and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
