Description

Delicious chocolate brownies topped with a creamy chocolate cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 11/3 cups unsalted butter (softened)
  • 22/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs (room temp, if possible)
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese (very softened)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted, I used Ghirardelli)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven at 350° and grease a 9×13 baking pan, set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, using mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, cocoa, and salt, then gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix together into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top is dry and the center is set.
  6. Cool completely (about 2-1/2 dozen).
  7. In a large bowl, using mixer, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  8. Add vanilla, then add the sifted cocoa powder and mix until fully incorporated.
  9. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until fully combined, drizzle in heavy cream.
  10. Mix until well combined.
  11. Frost brownies, then top off with chocolate sprinkles.
