Description

A delicious beef stir-fry recipe with bell peppers, onions, and a flavorful sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin or flank steak
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain, and chop all vegetables.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and sesame oil. Marinate the beef for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over high heat. Sear beef on both sides until browned. Remove from pan.
  4. Add garlic, ginger, and onions to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened.
  6. Mix beef broth, remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, remaining cornstarch, and black pepper in a bowl.
  7. Return beef to skillet. Pour sauce mixture over and cook until thickened.
  8. Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil and serve over rice or noodles.
