Description

A classic meatloaf recipe that combines ground beef with eggs, onions, and spices, topped with a sweet ketchup glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup dried minced onions
  • 2/3 cup wheat crackers, crushed
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • to taste Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce for the glaze.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, dried minced onions, crushed wheat crackers, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Press the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Pour half of the ketchup glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 1 to 1 1/4 hours until cooked through and golden brown.

Notes

  • Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing to ensure it stays moist.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated for a quick meal.
