Description

Delicious cherry almond cookies that are soft and chewy with a hint of cream cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¾ cup cherry preserves
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually combine with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Gently fold in cherry preserves and sliced almonds.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden around the edges but soft in the center. Cool on baking sheets before transferring to wire racks.

  • For added flavor, consider using almond extract in addition to vanilla.
