Ingredients
Scale

- 4 slices rye bread
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

- Form patties: Divide ground beef into four equal portions and shape into patties slightly larger than the bread.
- Cook patties: In a separate skillet, melt 1 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat. Season the patties with salt and pepper, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side until browned to your liking.
- Assemble sandwiches: On one slice of rye bread, layer a patty, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese. Top with another slice of bread.
- Grill sandwiches: Melt remaining butter in the skillet over medium heat. Add assembled sandwiches and grill each side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
