A delicious homemade teriyaki sauce that brings the flavors of Japan to your kitchen.
Ingredients

- ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ cup fresh orange juice
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2–3 tablespoons water
- 3 tablespoons honey (or brown sugar)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated or minced)
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (or to taste)
- ½ tablespoon gluten-free flour (or corn starch)
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a small pot or saucepan and stir until the flour has been mixed in.
- Bring the sauce to a boil on the stovetop before lowering it to a gentle simmer, stirring throughout.
- Simmer the teriyaki sauce until the sauce has reached your desired thickness.
- Use immediately or cool and store in a lidded jar in the fridge.
Notes
- This sauce can be adjusted for sweetness by adding more honey or sugar.
- It can also be spiced up by increasing the chili flakes.
- Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week.
