Description

A delicious baked hash brown casserole that’s creamy and cheesy, perfect for any meal!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons gluten-free flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 34 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2/3 cup milk of choice
  • To taste Kosher salt and pepper
  • 32 ounces frozen shredded hash browns (thawed)
  • 14 ounces buttermilk
  • 1 sweet onion (finely diced)
  • 2 cups shredded red cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crushed corn chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a medium baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk the gluten-free flour and chicken broth until smooth.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Add the flour-broth mixture and stir continuously for 1 minute. Add the milk little by little, stirring until there are no visible lumps. Season with Kosher salt and pepper, then remove from heat.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, salt, pepper, milk sauce, buttermilk, diced onion, and shredded red cheddar cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture into your prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer. Sprinkle with crushed corn chips.
  7. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until bubbling and hash browns are tender.
