- 500g sausage meat
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Black sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Prepare Sausage Filling: In a large bowl, mix together the sausage meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, rosemary, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Prepare the Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet in half lengthwise to make four rectangles.
- Shape the Sausage Rolls: Divide the sausage mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a log and place down the center of each pastry rectangle.
- Seal the Rolls: Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg. Fold the pastry over the sausage filling and seal the edges by pressing with a fork. Cut each log into smaller rolls, about 2 inches long.
- Egg Wash and Garnish: Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with more beaten egg and sprinkle with black sesame seeds.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden and crisp.
- Cooling and Serving: Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving. These sausage rolls can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.

- For extra flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of Dijon mustard to the sausage mixture.
- Ensure the puff pastry is well-chilled before using; this helps prevent sticking and makes it easier to work with.
- If you prefer spicier rolls, add a pinch of chili flakes to the sausage mix.
