Ingredients

- 4 medium-sized Russet potatoes
- 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 tablespoon salt (or to taste)
- 2 teaspoons paprika (or your favorite seasoning blend)
- 6 wooden skewers
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chives
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and tools.
- Insert a skewer through each potato lengthwise. Carefully slice the potato in a spiral motion around the skewer for even cuts.
- Soak the spiraled potatoes in water for 30 minutes to reduce starch. Drain and season with salt and paprika.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the spiraled potatoes until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and add desired toppings before serving warm.
